Welcome Spring with Green Thumbs! Join Our 2-Hour Beginner’s Gardening Workshop

Ready to start your own garden but don't know where to begin? Shake off the winter chill and dig into the joy of growing your own plants! No experience is required—just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to get your hands a little dirty!

What We Will Cover:

  • How to Start a Flower Patch- Planning, Protecting and Producing beautiful garden blooms

  • Spring Soil Secrets: Learn how to choose, prep, and enrich your soil to create the perfect cozy home for new roots.

  • Flower Sowing Basics (Featuring Dahlias!): Discover how to sow flower seeds with confidence, including a special focus on techniques for sowing dahlia seeds and a demonstration on planting dahlia tubers.

  • Caring for Seedlings: Nurturing your delicate seedlings with the right balance of water, warmth, and sunlight.

  • Beginner-Friendly Crops: Discover the easiest spring flowers to grow (perfect for any sized space, backyards, or pots!).

Workshop Details:

  • Duration: 2 Hours (with practical, hands-on practice)

  • What’s Included:

    • Hands on demonstration on how to sow some of our favourite summer flowering blooms including starting dahlias from seed and tubers.

    • Discussion on planning a flower garden and protecting young plants.

    • A walk around the Fat Goose Farm flower garden and the opportunity to pick-your-own posy of Spring blooms.

    • Light morning tea

    • Take home

      • Specialty cut flower seed packets to sow at home.

      • A helpful instructional booklet packed with tips to guide your growing journey.

      • A small flower jar to fill with "pick-your-own" blooms from our garden.

      • Pre-sown seedling to jump start your flower garden at home.

  • Who It’s For: Absolute beginners and anyone looking for a beautiful way to spend a relaxing Spring morning outdoors with like minded people.

PLEASE NOTE-

  • All participants must have a pre-purchased ticket to attend

  • Unfortunately we cannot have children under 16 years at the workshop

  • Please know that we are a farm with pot holes, insects and mud so please wear appropriate shoes and wet weather jacket if needed.

  • Tickets are non-refundable, however if you are unable to make our session you may certainly send a friend along in your place. Please contact us to let us know any changes.

  • Our workshop will go ahead with light rain however in the event of extreme weather you will be notified and either refunded or offered a rescheduled date if Fat Goose Farm has to cancel the workshop for any reason. Please review our Terms and Conditions.
